Surround Insurance cited by The Insurance Insider

November 19, 2019 - Kate Terry, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Surround Insurance, was cited by The Insurance Insider for an article on tightening capacity in the reinsurance market for InsurTech startups.

While appearing on a panel in New York hosted by Plug and Play, Kate was quoted as saying, “What happened is some InsurTechs said ‘insurance is totally broken’ and raised a ton of venture capital but they were also using reinsurance balance sheets as growth capital, which is not what it's meant for.”

Despite the current issues, Terry was additionally quoted as saying that "Surround had succeeded in lining up an “amazing” top-tier reinsurer to back its product suite."
